Back in June, the Quincy Chamber of Commerce met down at the riverfront for a group portrait, celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Chamber. The picture was inspired by a historic photo from 1911.
On this past Wednesday, Jan. 16, the Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Meeting and inducted four new members into the Business Hall of Fame: William Frederick Gerdes Sr, L.A. "Andy Nickelson, Clyde H. "Gus" Traeder, and Bernard H. "Bernie" Willer.
At the same meeting, the 125th Anniversary photo was unveiled as an 8x40 foot banner that was displayed across one wall of the Ambiance. The banner is currently on display down the long hallway at the Quincy Mall.
According to the Chamber website: "Photos like this are only taken once every century."
If that is so, I imagine someone else will have to take the next one!
If you or your company are represented in this historic Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce photo, you'll want a copy hanging in your home or place of business. The poster size includes the names of all the participants, the small souvenir size does not.
